Training & Development

Submit Registration form

After reviewing your application, a member of our Recruitment Team will be in touch for an initial chat and to arrange an interview.

Interview

Once you have discussed your requirements with our Recruitment Team, an interview with one of the Care Management Team closest to where you live may be arranged.

DBS & References

We carry out our own DBS check, which can take between 24 hours and up to six weeks. We endeavour to complete this process as quickly as possible to speed up the recruitment process. However, if you are on the DBS Update Service, we just require your last name, certificate number and date of birth.

Induction Course

The Induction Course runs over four consecutive days, which you will be paid for. It is held at our branch in Farnborough and our Trainer will be in touch with you to confirm your induction date.

Upon arrival you will be presented with your uniform and a Melody Care welcome pack containing a first aid kit, water bottle and PPE.

The course covers:

The Care Certificate – adhering to the highest care standards. For more information please watch this short video.

  First Aid

Hands on practical session – demonstrating how to safely move our clients.

There is also a 12-week e-learning module. This is carried out at home and fully supported by our Care Management Team.

Shadowing

Once the induction course has been completed, you will be shadowing one of our experienced carers as this is the best way to learn about the role. This hands-on experience will give you a chance to familiarise yourself with our procedures.

Start work

Our Quality & Compliance Manager will contact you a few weeks after you have started to check that everything is going okay and they can offer support where needed.

After our induction course, we want you to feel:

  Supported

  Valued

  Confident in your work

Please, don’t just take our word for it, here is some positive feedback from one of our carers…

I’ve really loved doing my training at home as it worked amazingly around my kids. All the training was so good too it was a lot to do but now it’s all done. Thank you for your support, it’s been good to know you are only a message away if I’ve needed you.

We are always on the end of the phone on 01252 229360 or you are welcome to pop into one of our Melody Care branches where we will be happy to answer any questions.
