Winners and finalists at the Surrey Care Awards

We were thrilled that we were winners in not one but two categories at this year’s Surrey Care Association Awards.

Victoria Inskip, who has been with Melody Care for two years, won Beyond the Care of Duty.

The presenter summarised Victoria as “someone who is in great demand with clients as they are very professional but has a lovely sense of fun. Is willing to take time out to do the little things that mean so much individual clients, like doing their hair or downloading their favourite 40’s music on a mobile so they could sing and boogie together. And another housebound client says ‘they listen to me and always chat with me which is so lovely.’”

Melody Care also won the category Innovation and Good Practice in Staff Recruitment & Retention.

The presenter remarked “Melody Care impressed the judges with its emphasis on people and culture strategies to help recruitment and retention. They focus on building relationships at every stage of their recruitment process, placing an equal amount of importance on the applicant’s feedback at interview as they want the carer to feel confident in them as a care provider and as a employer.”

Sarah Theobald was also a finalist at these awards in the category of Best Newcomer to the Care Sector. Well done Sarah!

Hampshire Care Association Awards

This year was the first time we attended the Hampshire Care Association AwardsKerry Metcalfe, Registered Branch Manager, Alton & Bordon, was a finalist in the category Homecare Non-Care Employee of the Year. Although she didn’t win on the night, we are very proud and pleased for her to be nominated as a finalist.
